Grinning Gorilla Ice “Dream”

Grinning Gorilla Ice “Dream”

2 to 3 frozen bananas

1/2 c. non-dairy milk

3 dates

1 heaping Tbsp cacoa or cocoa powder

2 Tbsp peanut butter

What to do:

Chill a mixing bowl for later.

In a blender, blend the non-dairy milk and dates until dates are finely ground.

Add the bananas and cocoa powder and blend until creamy

Pour the mixture into your chilled mixing bowl and add the peanut butter.  Stir with a spoon leaving some chunks.

Spoon into serving dishes and enjoy!

  2. What is non-dairy milk? Like Mocha Mix? I’m thinking no… I’m intrigued since I can’t “do” milk and/or ice cream any longer

    • Hi, Cindy! Thanks for checking in and that’s a great question. Non-dairy milk usually refers to almond, soy, or rice milk. I prefer soy because it has the lightest flavor and has a consistency similar to dairy milk. Some people like grain milks, like oat or barley milk, though it is harder to find. Soy and almond milks are both in the grocery store and can be found in the refrigerator section as well as the shelf. If you’re finding you’re unable to have dairy, you can also find coconut ice cream. I’ve found it at Fred Meyer in the “health food” section. I know you are probably rather close to a Trader Joes, You might check them out and see what you can find. You CAN eat frozen treats again. 🙂
